The Royal Gallery

The Royal Gallery houses oil paintings from the VMH collection. It includes paintings by renowned artists like Thomas & William Daniell, Johann Zoffany, R. Mackenzie, Charles Horsley etc. One of the highlights of the gallery is a grand painting adorning the South wall created by the renowned Russian artist Vassili Verestchagin. This masterpiece depicts the state entry of King Edward VII, the then Prince of Wales, into Jaipur in 1876 and holds the distinction of being not only the largest oil painting on a single canvas in India but also among the largest paintings in the world.
